The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) is pleased to announce that the signal from the X-ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM), launched from the Tanegashima Space Center at 8:42:11 a.m. on September 7, 2023 (Japan Standard Time, JST), has been successfully received at the Hawaii station (United States of America) at 9:04 a.m. JST on the same day. It has been confirmed that the satellite’s sun acquisition control is operating normally. A signal was subsequently received at the Uchinoura station (Japan) at 10:24 a.m. JST on the same day, and confirmed the completion of the deployment of the solar array paddles.
The XRISM’s status is currently normal.
